A Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputy played a game of hide and seek with a bear in Tahoe City, California. Footage posted to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Twitter account on May 23 shows the deputy calling out to the bear, which pops its head up from behind a dumpster at a Shell gas station. Despite this cute encounter, the sheriff’s office reminded members of the public to steer clear of bears. “Friendly tip: please don’t engage the bears – they may look cute and fluffy, but they have real instincts,” they said.
