Despite it only being the third edition of The Everest, the amount of interest it has generated and its high-class field has seen it become one of the world’s premier racing events. Santa Ana Lane, the outstanding Anthony Freedman-trained gelding, is a well-supported favourite, but Arcadia Queen, the high-class four-year-old mare from Western Australia, could still storm into favouritism off the back of a slashing win in the G2 Theo Marks Stakes last month. Yes Yes Yes, the sole three-year-old in the race, has added more intrigue to an already open race, while the tearaway Nature Strip will ensure that the race is run at a frenetic pace. The ever-popular Redzel, aiming to win his third Everest in a row is sure to have his supporters, along with Pierata and Sunlight, who have already shown their class this preparation. Image: Getty
