NSW government to unveil plans to house overseas students in Redfern development

A 24-storey high Redfern student housing building is being touted as a potential quarantine facility as the New South Wales government prepares to unveil plans to lure back overseas students. The $100-million Scape development, which boasts of up to 600 beds, is hoping to house the first intake of international students in time for the second semester in a bid to help the struggling university sector. It is understood the proposal will see the building re-engineered with new airflow systems and contactless access points to help combat the spread of COVID-19.
