Sunshine Coast siege remains ‘volatile’ as negotiations continue

A man wanted for questioning following the discovery of a teenage girl's remains shoved inside a barrel, has refused to leave a Sunshine Coast unit after 24 hours of negotiations, in a stand-off with police. Zlatko Sikorsky, 34, has been wanted since Wednesday and is believed to be alone inside the Juan Street complex. Up to 40 police officers, including Specialist Emergency Response Team personnel, are involved in the operation. Some residents have been able to briefly return to their homes to retrieve personal belongings, but police still say the situation is 'volatile'.
