Ultra Music Festival issued an apology after thousands of festivalgoers were left stranded late on March 29, the festival’s opening night, on Virginia Key island in Miami, Florida, following transportation issues. Attendees were forced to walk from Virginia Key Beach Park along the Rickenbacker Causeway to drop-off locations in South Miami after waiting hours for shuttle buses to the mainland when the festival ended. Hundreds of people took to Twitter to compare the blunder to 2017’s Fyre Festival. “Many of you experienced challenging transportation conditions leaving the festival,” Ultra Music Festival said in a statement. “This is unacceptable and inconsistent with the high standards you have come to expect from us. For this, we are sorry.” This footage shows festivalgoers walking along the Rickenbacker Causeway. Credit: @DukeAmazin via Storyful
