Anglicare report says “active job network” not working and fewer jobs for the disadvantaged

October 16, 2019. Kasy Chambers, Anglicare Australia Executive Director speaking to the media in Canberra about the release of a snapshot of jobseekers in Australia and shows that facts about how many jobs are available for people who don't have qualifications or work experience. One in seven jobseekers face barriers to work: like older workers who lost their jobs later in life, people with disabilities, young people who haven't finished year 12 and they spend an average of five years looking for work. Active job networks are also part of the problem by ticking boxes and using a park and cream methodology to maximise their fees. (AAP Video/Marc Tewksbury)
