‘Hyper-partisanship’ over Trump impeachment inquiry

Senior Fellow of the US Studies Centre Bruce Wolpe says "there is hyper-partisanship" on the issue of US President Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry with "no common ground" between Democrats and Republicans. "Near a majority of the country - 49 per cent - want the President impeached and removed from office," Mr Wolpe said. "Even if the worst is shown, that Trump abused his power... [Republicans] don't think it rises to remove him from office. So that's why I think he will be acquitted." Image: AP
