More than 100 troops farwelled in Darwin ahead of deployment to Iraq

One hundred Australian and 45 New Zealand troops have been farewelled in Darwin ahead of their deployment to Iraq. Australian troops have trained for six straight weeks while their New Zealand counterparts have trained for two months ahead of the 10th rotation of Task Group Taji. The troops will spend the next eight months helping to train Iraqi forces as part of Operation Okra. Since 2014, Australian and New Zealand soldiers have helped to instruct more than 45,000 Iraqi Special Operations Forces during their battle with Islamic State. Image: News Corp Australia
