TWU wants rights for workers in gig economy

National Secretary Michael Kaine alongside Santosh Gupta, the husband of Amrita Gupta, speaks in Sydney as the Transport Workers’ Union launches an appeal against a previous Fair Work Commission decision that upheld the sacking of a driver who was allegedly sacked for delivering food ten minutes late. Mr Kaine says the union's appeal on behalf of the driver is about ending worker exploitation. "We're asking the commission to blow the lid on exploitation in this sector," Mr Kaine says.
