Urban Infrastructure Minister Alan Tudge says “we’ve had bushfires in this country for as long as you can remember” and has urged people to “just keep perspective on this”. Mr Tudge defended Prime Minister Scott Morrison after he said on Thursday there was no evidence to directly link Australia’s carbon emissions to bushfires currently gripping much of the country’s east. “We're 1.3 per cent of global emissions. What we do doesn’t have a direct impact in relation to the bushfires," he told Sky News. "We’ve got to do our bit, and we’re contributing to the overall emissions reductions global effort, but let’s just keep this all in perspective." Image: News Corp Australia
