Businessmen and government leaders have slept outside in solidarity with the homeless, as part of the 15th annual Vinnies CEO sleepout. The national event raised more than $5 million. Woodards Group CEO John Piccolo told Sky News it was a worthwhile cause as homelessness was an “endemic within our society”. Mr Piccolo said more than 116,000 people across the nation were homeless. “I don’t think it’s appropriate that a country like Australia has the number of homelessness that it actually does,” he said.
