Residents of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, were urged to seek shelter as Tropical Storm Isaias tracked into Florida, bringing strong winds on August 1. The National Weather Service issued significant weather warnings for the Fort Lauderdale area, expecting winds in excess of 45 miles per hour and strong thunderstorms. The storm had weakened from a hurricane to a tropical storm but was expected to regain strength as it approached the Florida coast. The National Hurricane Center predicted hurricane conditions to affect the area on Sunday. Credit: amichakrareiki via Storyful
