Hurricane Zeta Brings Sheets of Rain, Strong Wind to New Orleans

Hurricane Zeta made landfall in Cocodrie, Louisiana as a Category 2 storm on October 28, with the eye of the storm reportedly moving over New Orleans. Footage uploaded to Instagram by @ymcmb_menace shows sheets of rain lashing the New Orleans skyline. “Made It to a hotel in downtown New Orleans at the Hyatt and I was stuck on the elevator for 20 minutes way on the 18th floor,” wrote @ymcmb_menace. As of the evening of October 28, the National Hurricane Center had warned of “life-threatening storm surge, high winds, and heavy rain” for southeastern Louisiana and southern Mississippi .
