Arizona National Guard Distributes Thanksgiving Supplies to Navajo Nation After Lockdown Begins

The Arizona National Guard helped load up food supplies for Navajo Nation residents in Tuba City, Arizona, ahead of Thanksgiving on November 17, according to DVIDS. Video filmed at the Western Navajo Fairgrounds shows soldiers loading boxes of supplies into hundreds of vehicles, amounting to “1,200 turkeys and more than 80,000 pounds of food,” DVIDS said. Navajo Nation reinstated a stay-home lockdown order on November 16 for the entire reservation due to rising COVID-19 cases. The order also closed tribal offices and requires new closures and safety measures for businesses, according to reports. Credit: DVIDS via Storyful
