United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) organized a rally among hundreds of people at Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles on November 7 after Joe Biden won the presidential election. The organization of Los Angeles educators was one of multiple groups demonstrating across Los Angeles in order to ensure a peaceful transfer of power, local news reported. UTLA president Cecily Myart-Cruz spoke on Biden’s win and to “…stop Trump’s threat to delegitimize the votes of Black and Brown people.” “WE MARCH because Joe Biden’s clear electoral win doesn’t mean that Trump will concede,” UTLA said on Twitter.
