As Tropical Storm Eta approached the Florida Keys on Sunday, November 8, large waves pounded the coastline. Hurricane warnings were cancelled on Sunday, but severe weather was still forecast for Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. According to the Sun Sentinel, strong wind, heavy rain and a chance of tornadoes were expected to accompany the storm. In Port Everglades, wind gusts of more than 60 mph were reported. Sustained wind speeds of nearly 40 mph were also forecast, the report said. This footage was taken from Gilbert’s Bar House of Refuge on Hutchinson Island. Credit: Kelly Prentice via Storyful
