Eruption Sends Lava Fountaining From Mount Etna’s Southeast Crater

Mount Etna erupted on the night of December 13-14, Boris Behncke, a volcanologist at Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, said. Behncke posted this footage on Twitter, showing the lava flowing from the volcano. “A few moments of the second short episode of Strombolian activity culminating in lava fountaining at #Etna’s Southeast Crater,” he wrote.
