Pfizer COVID Vaccines Arrive at Naval Hospital Pensacola

Hospital facilities across the country accepted the first shipments of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, rolling out plans to vaccinate high-risk individuals and health care workers first. Official footage shows the immunizations department at Naval Hospital Pensacola (NHP) in Florida receiving vaccine doses and preparing them for storage on December 15. According to the Department of Defense, NHP was one of the facilities selected to “receive the vaccine in a phased, standardized and coordinated strategy for prioritizing and administering the vaccine.” Florida Gov Ron DeSantis said the state’s initial allocation of 179,400 doses would be distributed to health care workers, long-term care facilities, and directly to the Florida Department of Health. As of December 15, Florida had reported 1,143,794 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 20,082 deaths. Credit: DVIDS via Storyful
