The beach at Byron Bay in New South Wales (NSW) was largely eroded on Monday, December 14, as “king tides” fuelled by large storm bringing rain and wind overtook coastal areas, reports said. Footage shared by Marc Wilson shows a tree falling on the eroded Byron Bay beach before walkway fencing collapses. One man tried to walk along the damaged walkway as it collapsed but did not appear injured, according to reports. Coastal areas of northern NSW and Queensland’s south braced for “cyclone-like conditions” through Monday amid continued flooding over the weekend. All Gold Coast beaches were closed in anticipation of the inclement weather. Credit: Marc Wilson via Storyful
