Helicopters were called in to provide aerial support in Quilpué, Chile, for firefighting crews on Friday, January 15, as a wildfire devastated hundreds of acres in the region. This video uploaded to Twitter by the Chilean government’s National Forestry Corporation shows a Chinook helicopter carrying water in a smoke-filled sky to aid firefighting efforts. The National Emergency Office ordered the evacuation of residents in parts of Quilpué.The city was on Red Alert as the fire consumed 400 hectares (988 acres) of forest in the nearby Lago Peñuelas National Reserve.
