New research has found people who have been infected with COVID-19 are more likely to score poorly on intelligence tests. The Great British Intelligence Test scored more than 80,000 people, with those who had been on ventilators reporting a seven-point drop in IQ. Those who had been infected with the virus underperformed in reasoning, planning and problem-solving tasks compared to those who had never tested positive. There may be multiple contributing factors, including residual symptoms.
