Aircraft Battle Ptarmigan Fire as New Evacuations Ordered in Summit County, Colorado

New evacuations were ordered in Summit County, Colorado, on Tuesday, September 28, as the Ptarmigan Fire grew to approximately 40 acres overnight. This footage filmed by Summit County resident Michael Weber, who said it was taken in the Silverthorne suburb of Wildernest on Tuesday morning, shows an aircraft dropping fire retardant on the blaze. Additional firefighting resources have been arriving to the scene as crews continue to focus on using aerial resources to keep the fire from moving downslope toward structures, according to InciWeb.
