US President Joe Biden says United States stands with Japan in the “moment of grief” following the assassination of former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. A number of world leaders are paying tribute to Japan's former Prime Minister in messages online, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Russian President Vladimir Putin. President Biden tweeted online he was “stunned, outraged, and deeply saddened”. “The United States stands with Japan in this moment of grief," Mr Biden said. Public displays and periods of mourning are being held around the world to honour Shinzo Abe.
