United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has kicked off her tour of Asia but there has been no mention of visiting Taiwan. A statement from her office said she will visit Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan, not specifying whether she will be making other stops. A US House Speaker has not visited Taiwan since 1997.
