World population to hit eight billion by November

The world's population is expected to reach eight billion by mid-November as growth slows to its lowest rate since 1950. The latest UN projections also show India's population will overtake China's next year. The global population will peak at around 10.4 billion people during the 2080s - and stay at that level until 2100.
