Indigenous leader Warren Mundine says Tony Abbott will bring 'a lot of passion' to the role of special envoy on Indigenous affairs. Referring to insensitive comments the former prime minister made regarding Indigenous communities while he was in office, Mr Mundine says the remarks were made when Mr Abbott went ‘off-script’ and that ‘he has a tendency to do that’. Mr Mundine, who acted as Chairman of the Indigenous Advisory Council while Mr Abbott was prime minister, says those who have issues with Mr Abbott’s new role need to ‘start putting personalities aside’. Mr Mundine admitted to Sky News his list of complaints with Mr Abbott is ‘probably as long as a toilet roll’, but says it’s important to move forward. Image: John Feder / News Corp Australia
