Australia's leading edge in Antarctica is set to be secured for the next thirty years with the nation's colossal icebreaker vessel, Nuyina. Sky News has been granted exclusive access to the ship’s construction in Romania ahead of its delivery to Hobart in 2020. At a length of 160 metres and a weight of almost 25,000 tonnes, the vessel dwarfs the ship it will replace, the Aurora Australis. Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman says the ship will potentially have ‘significant onflow benefits to Tasmanian businesses.’
