Hail pelted Durango, Mexico, on Tuesday, July 31, during a severe storm that Mexican authorities blamed for the crash of a passenger plane. Aeromexico Flight 2431 crashed in a field just outside Guadalupe Victoria Airport (Durango International) with 97 passengers and 4 crew aboard, according to local officials. A preliminary investigation said the crash was caused by “adverse weather conditions,” according to OMA Aeropuertos, the administrative company that operates Durango International Airport in northwestern Mexico.
