Central American Migrants Face US Officers at Tijuana Border

A group of Central American migrants seeking to enter the US broke away from the main migrant caravan to reach the US/Mexico border at Tijuana on Tuesday, November 13. The migrants were seen straddling the border fence at Tijuana beach while American law enforcement officers stood watching from the US side. US military responded to the new wave of migrants approaching Tijuana by reinforcing security measures, including laying razor wire and erecting barricades, the Guardian reported. About 400 migrants, including some from Honduras and Guatemala, traveled across western Mexico to Tijuana by bus after separating from their original group at Guadalajara. US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of more than 5,000 military troops to the border in a move to limit immigration to the US, the Washington Post. Credit: Jaime Hernandez via Storyful
