New ABC chairwoman Ita Buttrose plans to restore stability at the top of the national broadcaster following a period marked by tumultuous leadership issues. Ms Buttrose replaces Justin Milne, who left the broadcaster six months ago after clashing with former managing director Michelle Guthrie. The former magazine editor was not included on the short list of potential leaders provided to the federal government by an independent panel. Scott Morrison said the process didn't meet requirements, leaving the government to make its own pick. Image: News Corp Australia
