The father of a young student who was beaten with a metal pole before being sexually assaulted will travel to Australia to face his daughter's killer during sentencing. This is the third day of the pre-sentencing hearing of Codey Herrmann, the man accused of murdering Israeli exchange student Aiia Maasarwe. Forensic psychiatrist Andrew Carroll told the court on Wednesday that Herrmann did not suffer from schizophrenia, but rather a severe personality disorder which stemmed from issues very early in his life. The psychiatrist said the 21-year-old showed some level of regret but his remorse is limited. Hermann pleaded guilty to rape and murder and a sentencing date has been set for October 29.
