Democrats ‘very confident’ in Trump’s impeachment

U.S. Studies Centre Visiting Fellow Bruce Wolpe says the impeachment investigation is gaining momentum despite Donald Trump’s claims it is “illegitimate” and “unconstitutional". Mr Wolpe told Sky News on Thursday "make no mistake, this is coming" because the Democrats feel "very confident of their case". While the house has adequate support to impeach the president as it is Democrat-controlled, the senate does not as it is majority-Republican. Despite the Democrats' confidence, Mr Wolpe said it was apparent the US President would not crumble under the pressure. “He’s calling the plays and he believes he’s in a pretty strong position and he can beat this,” he said.
