Ardern refuses to get involved in political donations scandal

New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters last week admitted his party was involved in taking covert photographs of two journalists who were investigating the handling of political donations by a secretive foundation linked to the party. The photos were posted to a right-wing political blog, however Mr Peters backtracked and said a supporter was responsible for taking the photos. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said it was solely a matter for Mr Peters, who insisted no private investigators were involved. On Monday Ms Ardern said she had nothing to do with the matter and it was not her responsibility to defend or explain it. Image: AP
