Company earnings ‘pretty good’ despite headwinds

InvestSMART’s Evan Lucas says overall company earnings numbers “have been pretty good” despite talk around future expectations. “I think what you need to look at though is what is coming out particularly around future expectations, the numbers so far have been pretty good, if you look at CBA last week, if you look at CSL," he said. “You can see that there is going to be headwinds at the back half of this year around either the coronavirus, the bushfire season or the overall effects that are currently happening in the global economy."
