A tribute was displayed at Super Bowl LIV on February 2 to Kobe Bryant, his teenage daughter, and the seven other people who died in a helicopter crash in California the previous week. An image displayed on a screen showed Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, as well as the names of all nine people who died in the crash including baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife, Keri, and their daughter Alyssa; Sarah and Payton Chester, a mother and daughter; basketball coach Christina Mauser; and pilot Ara Zobayan. The display wasn’t the only tribute planned for Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium; Jennifer Lopez and Shakira said they would honor the Lakers legend when they co-headlined the halftime show on Sunday night.
