President Donald Trump says the US will adopt a mobile strategy with ventilators which involves sending the devices to COVID-19 hotspots so the country can forecast “a couple of days in advance”. “We’ve already agreed to ship out over 1000 today to different sites, different locations,” he said in White House briefing. “We have to have the flexibility of moving the ventilators to where the virus is going, and we’ll be able to see that from charts a couple of days in advance. Mr Trump said the US has a “nice pile of ventilators” with 11 companies manufacturing more but warned the complex, costly devices take time to construct. The US has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with more than 200,000 sickened in the pandemic. Image: AP
