The Queen will deliver an exceptionally rare televised message to the UK on Monday morning in a morale-boosting show of “solidarity” with the people of the UK, Euronews Journalist Trent Murray says. Apart from Christmas Day messages, televised addresses have only occurred on three occasions: during the Gulf War and after the deaths of Princess Diana in 1997, and the Queen Mother in 2002. The address has been pre-recorded at Windsor Castle where she is self-isolating with the Duke of Edinburgh. Her address will come at a time when the UK is slogging through a lockdown and is riddled with COVID-19 cases – recording 38,000 with 3600 deaths on Saturday. Image: Getty
