The handling of the Ruby Princess cruise ship fiasco is now under police investigation, NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has confirmed. Police will investigate how 2700 passengers were allowed to disembark the cruise ship last month without being tested for the deadly coronavirus. Since passengers disembarked on March 19, 600 have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 10 have died from the virus. There has been a bitter stand off between the NSW government and eight separate cruise ships anchored off the NSW coast refusing to leave Australian waters. The NSW Police Commissioner announced on Friday two of the eight ships were now out of Australian waters and five more would be on their way as soon as they were restocked and refueled.
