The Aboriginal community will be consulted over the future of a Captain Cook statue in Melbourne which was defaced at the weekend. Vandals sprayed the words “shame” and “destroy white supremacy” on the memorial in the Edinburgh Gardens in Yarra. Councillor Stephen Jolly will put forward a motion asking the Yarra Council to consult with the Aboriginal community on whether to keep the memorial. Image: News Corp Australia
