AFL to return to empty MCG

Richmond and Collingwood will restart the AFL season on Thursday night, but the stands of the MCG will be empty as mass gatherings are still banned in Victoria. Victorians, and Australians alike, will have to watch the game from home or at a pub, although many have sold out of AFL packages. In South Australia, the Showdown game between Port and the Crows will be allowed to host just more than 2,000 spectators attend. In New South Wales, hundreds will be able to attend the game between Sydney and the Giants. Image: News Corp Australia
