Facebook cites ‘free speech’ over Trump post

Facebook has defended its decision not to remove a controversial post from United States President Donald Trump regarding anti-racism protesters. The president faced harsh criticism for his post which said “when the looting starts, the shooting starts” in reference to violent protests taking place in Minnesota in response to the death of George Floyd in police custody. Former British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg – now a senior official at Facebook - said it was very important to defend free expression. Image: AP
