A US health official has called authorities to strengthen the country's health system during the coronavirus pandemic. Centers for Disease Control Director Robert Redfield testified before congress, warning it would face a tremendous burden between COVID-19 and a major autumn flu season. He said in order for the economy to reopen successfully, the health system needed to be in order. The Appropriations Committee Chair Nita Lowey also called for 'a national strategy' on testing and tracing, arguing President Donald Trump had not adequately addressed COVID-19.
