Australian Defence Force personnel will help clear debris and repair infrastructure in Tonga later this week as part of disaster relief efforts. Tonga was hit by a tsunami last month caused by an underwater volcano eruption. Recovery work will begin on Tonga's Atata Island, after adverse weather conditions ease to allow the HMAS Adelaide to reach the island safely. The HMAS Supply has also been deployed to Tonga and is carrying half a million litres of fuel and humanitarian and disaster relief supplies.
