Australia will fast-track the development of hypersonic long-range missiles as part of a new agreement with the United States and United Kingdom. The missiles will be able travel at least five times the speed of sound and will have a range of more than 2,000 kilometres. Land-based missiles will be stationed in Australia while other versions will be deployed on jets and warships. Just under seven months since the unveiling of the AUKUS partnership, the new defence pact will be detailed on Thursday.
