The United Kingdom faces one of its longest recessions on record after the Bank of England overnight by three-quarters of a percent increased rates as it seeks to crush inflation. Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood said it's quite clear inflation is being fought around the world. Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey announced increased bank rates by 0.75 percentage points to three per cent. "This is the eighth consecutive increase in bank rate since December of last year," he said.
