Leaders from around the world have attended China's second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing. More than 35 foreign leaders and 5,000 representatives from more than 100 countries attended the event. The multi-billion-dollar initiative aims to connect the world through a series of trade and political networks centred on China. More than 100 countries have signed cooperation agreements with China, despite many Western countries slamming the project.
