Brendan Nelson will stand down from his role as Australian War Memorial Director when his term ends at the end of the year. The former Liberal party leader and defence minister will be stepping down after holding the position for seven years. Veterans Minister Darren Chester made the announcement on Thursday, thanking Dr Nelson for his contribution to public life.
