Crime bosses who conspired to import the 'world's biggest' ecstasy haul into Australia are preparing to launch bids for freedom over the 'Lawyer X' scandal. After serving just seven years of a 37-year sentence, convicted drug trafficker Rob Karam is reportedly working on being released from prison by Christmas. Karam had a key role in smuggling an estimated 15 million ecstasy pills worth more than $440 million into Melbourne in 2007. If his appeal is successful, the convictions of more than 30 syndicate members could also be in jeopardy. Image: News Corp Australia
