Sydney lockout laws face parliamentary probe

A parliamentary inquiry into Sydney’s lockout laws has received more than 800 submissions from members of the public, medical professionals, musicians and venue owners. Officials from major businesses like Sydney Airport and the Convention Centre have also personally written to Gladys Berejiklian. NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham told Sky News lockout laws must be overturned so Sydney can reclaim its reputation. “There has been no gain in terms of assaults and violence in Sydney. But we’ve destroyed jobs, investments, economic opportunity and Sydney’s international tourism reputation," he said. Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore and award-winning musician Josh Pyke will speak at the inquiry and a full report will be available by the end of next month.
