Hong Kong based reporter Primrose Riordan says thousands are missing work due to protests erupting across the city. Police in Hong Kong fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters as strikes crippled the city's transport network on Monday night local time. Financial Times journalist Primrose Riordan told Sky News the city was in complete chaos, “even police stations were paralysed because they had protesters throwing bricks at them". “It’s not a city known for industrial action, yet organisers estimated at least 20,000 people went on strike or didn’t turn up to work,” she said.
